The Challenge

An Engine Manufacturer approached Hale Hamilton for the design and supply of the skids they required for their new 16MW and 32MW Dual Fuel Engine.

High-pressure direct-injection industrial Dual Fuel Engines burn compressed natural gas to generate electrical energy. Natural gas is compressed at 355 barg and fed to the engine at a variable flow rate depending on the engine load and the fuel mixture. Gas control for Engine feed, vent, and blowdown processes is controlled via a series of Fuel Gas Supply Skids.

Our Solution

Hale Hamilton developed both open-frame and cabinet-based concepts for different end-user needs for projects in Brazil, Turkey, Venezuela, and Columbia. Both solutions utilise a control solution that accommodates the low flow requirements for start-up and high flow / low-pressure drop requirements for running engines at their maximum load.

Our flanged valve range minimised leak paths and costs, and the skids were factory-accepted and tested with the client before shipping.

Hale Hamilton manufactures skids and packaged systems to meet client needs on a regular basis.
